MORE HASTE....

kayak (1 minute sample)

Please listen with headphones.

You are paddling your way down the Amazon - alone - in a kayak, on a 3 month adventure or sabattical. In the distance - the drumbeat of a friendly local tribe and rain forest bird life. You feel deeply peaceful.

Electronic music fades in. You notice a figure sitting in the kayak - whomsoever you choose. In your relaxed state you can ask them a question. Wait and they will reply.

Slowing down - a top career skill for work-life balance

Busy, busy, busy.... is how many of our clients with career dilemmas come across.

If they’re not busy with their actions – doing more, taking on extra work and fitting huge amounts into their lives - they’re busy with their thoughts, constantly analysing and processing.

"Busy doing" and/or "busy thinking" can be a diversion system from what is really wrong with a career (or life!!). The resultant chronic exhaustion makes decision making harder (eg. trying to go straight to a decision without taking the stages of career exploration in a steady, comprehensive manner).

"Busyness" means no spare "RAM" memory in the mental hard drive for processing new information. In the end even talking or writing about career issues can bring on panic or despair.

These two habits (often present together) are hard to break and contribute to burnout. This page offers career specific relaxation MP3 samples designed by Medical Forum. With regular listening, the full tracks (30-60 minutes) can help to restore work-life balance and a calm mind, which in turn ensures more effective carer planning - whether you join one of our programmes or not.

The full track versions are available to you free when you join a Career Review or they can be purchased separately.

...LESS SPEED

meditation (1 minute sample)

Please listen with headphones.

A guided career relaxation track.

A Steven Hawking like synthetic voice talks you through firstly relaxation and then onto questions to your deeper self  "what do you seek for your career", "what would you most like to change about your career?", "what would you like to do?" - questions that can be hard to answer in normal "busy" mode.
